Custom Jars

Maybe this is my first idea because I’m obsessed with using jars for things, but I love the idea of decorating a jar and filling it full of date ideas for you and your SO to pick out in future. I actually did one of these for my husband once and added things I love about him, memories and facts all on different colored paper so he could read a new one each morning. It did take me ages but it was worth it!

Of course you could also make them a jar of their favorite candy, or a brownie mix for you to bake together, or create a little date night in a jar instead. There are so many things you can do with them! Can you tell I love jars?

Scrapbook

Another great idea if you want to get crafty and reminisce is to create a scrapbook full of memores. Get a blank book from a craft shop or online, add a custom title to the front, stick in lots of photos and then also add names or silhouettes of places you’ve been and vacations you’ve taken. Then you can add dates alongside your photos, little quotes, cute stickers - the opportunities are endless when it comes to scrapbooking.

Custom Glass/Cup

Because you can never have enough drinkware… make a custom glass, mug, water bottle, Starbucks cup, anything that your SO likes to drink out of. And you can either add just their name, or their favorite character, a funny saying or make one for both of you so that they’re matching.

This also works if you’re single, or even if you’re not, make yourself one with a funny quote - or make them for your friends and share the love this Vday!

Valentines Decor

Because decorating should be for every major holiday! You could make a nice quote sign, or add a love quote above your bed. You can give it to your other half as a gift and keep it up in the house after if it isn’t too specific to Valentine’s day as well, or just use temporary vinyl for the walls if you do want to take it down afterward.

Or you could also decorate the window with window cling if you want to share your love for Vday with your neighbours.

Or if you want to keep it a bit more low-key, make smaller decorations like candle jars (don’t add directly to candles), decorative plates (remember vinyl isn’t food safe), or make a cute pillow.

Valentines Day for kids

There are also lots of ways to get the kids involved in this love filled holiday too. Perhaps make a onesie if it’s your baby’s first valentines day, or some cute T-shirts for your kids.

Or if they’re old enough, just get them to help with making gifts and decorations for when your partner gets in to give them a surprise from the whole family. And it doubles as a great activity to keep them busy!

Custom Gift Box/Crate

And let’s finish on an easy one. Get a box/bucket/crate/bag, anything that you can fit items inside basically and customize it for your recipient. It could be as simple as just putting some of their favorite things in and adding their name to the front.

Or you could get a bit more creative and make a movie night in a box for you both, or a spa day in a bucket just for them. You know what they like!

And if you’re still unsure, there are tonnes of other ideas out there too, check out Design Bundles for lots of design inspiration!

And let me know in the comments if you have any other great ideas for what to make this Valentines day!
